The last picasa is not available for linux. I looked for an easy way to import picasa webalbums on my linux workstation. I found some internet posts about downloading it with firefox and the excellent download all plugin. But I found an easier way! use gthumb.
Yes; it is that easy, login with your gmail or google apps account select the album you want to download and press Import.
The only missing feature so far is a download all albums feature.
